Preparing Your Hair for Extensions
4 November 2026

What to do in the two weeks before your appointment so your extensions sit naturally and last longer.
The best extension results start before you sit in the chair.
Get a trim first
Split ends travel up the strand once extensions add weight. A small trim two weeks beforehand means the blend stays clean for longer.
Deep condition, but skip heavy oils on the day
Healthy, well hydrated hair holds a bond or a sew-in more comfortably. On the day itself, arrive with hair washed and fully dry, without silicone serums, so the attachment grips properly.
Decide on the hair beforehand
Length, texture and colour should be chosen with your stylist. Bringing your own hair is fine, but check the texture and weight first so the result moves naturally with your own hair.
Plan the aftercare
Book your removal or maintenance appointment at the same time as the install. Extensions should never be left in longer than recommended.
At Roro Hair we check your hair density and scalp before recommending a method, then match the hair to your natural texture.
